Mascot Metal Traders is a family-owned partnership firm, led by the family of Mr. Dharmendra Joshi. The company has been established for over 40 years, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat—known as the “Brass City” of India, located on the country's west coast. Specializing in the recycling of nonferrous metal scrap, the company acts both as a manufacturer and trading entity,

Founded in 1980 by the late Shree Kantilal Joshi, Mascot Metal Traders started as a proprietorship focused on the metal scrap business. Initially, it operated as an indenter, connecting international suppliers with Indian buyers, thus introducing global-standard raw materials to Indian manufacturers who previously relied on domestic scrap. This initiative helped boost the Indian economy and supported the first wave of international scrap imports.

In 1993, the company transitioned into a family partnership, and in 2000, the second generation—Mr. Dharmendra Joshi—joined the business. He brought innovative strategies, significantly increasing trade volumes. Despite the challenges of limited technology and communication, especially in the early 2000s, the company grew steadily, establishing relationships with more international firms. Mascot Metal Traders also began importing scrap and catering to small local enterprises (MSMEs), staying true to the principle: “If small businesses grow, the company will grow.”

Lt. Mr. Joshi founded the Metal Association to advocate for local industry needs with the government, serving as its president for over 20 years. Under his leadership, the company evolved from an indenter to a trader, and more recently, a manufacturer of zinc alloy ingots. This manufacturing activity was established three years ago.
